Searching Library Search

Newspaper articles can be found using the Library Search box on the homepage, and then by clicking the link to 'Newspapers search' from the search results page. Or, at the direct link: Library Search: Newspapers.

Use this tool to search many news database collections at the same time, finding the widest variety of results.

There is also the option to search within Featured Canadian Newspapers, which will yield a shorter, Canada-focused, list of results. The Featured Canadian Newspapers list searches only within the Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, National Post, Vancouver Sun, and Montreal Gazette.

However, Library Search cannot be used to search specifically for magazine content. To search magazine articles, use an article database.

Note: Library Search: Newspapers search results also contain wire feeds and press releases, which are different from newspaper articles. Press releases are often written by an organization to provide information or make an announcement. To confirm whether an article is from a newspaper or another type of source (such as newswires, wirefeeds, etc.), open the article an look for details on the source type.
